Moruya High students celebrated Wear It Purple day on Friday. “Wear It Purple” unites LGBTQIA+ youth and allies across thousands of schools, community organisations, universities and workplaces to create a more inclusive future for All Australians. Both students and staff were encouraged to wear purple or rainbow colours as a visible stand against bullying and homophobia, underscoring our commitment to creating a diverse and supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals within the school and the broader community.
This year’s theme ‘your passion, your pride’ was an empowering call to young rainbow people to embrace and express their true selves and pursue their dreams. It encourages them to see and feel inspired by successful, happy LGBTQIA+ role models who demonstrate that achieving their dreams is possible.
Students engaged in various enjoyable activities in the quad, including chalk drawing, writing kindness notes, and listening to music. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all staff and students who participated in making this year's event a success.
