Inaugural Stars Southern Region Junior Carnival.

Stars Moruya High School hosted the first Stars Southern Region Junior Carnival between the 3rd - 6th June. The carnival was Stars students in Year 7 to 9 from Moruya High School, James Fallon High School from Albury and Tumut High School. 40 students and 8 staff enjoyed 3 days of camping and participating in a number of sports at the sports carnival. The first night was spent eating pizza, thank you Ms Mood for the incredible tasting pizzas and the girls finished the evening by joining in on ice breaker games.

On the Wednesday all the programs headed to Broulee and participated in a Touch Football carnival. The weather was perfect and Touch Footy NSW joined us where they ran warm up drills in preparation for the day ahead. After a great round robin competition, Albury and Moruya were the finalists with Moruya taking out the win. A big thank you is extended to the services who supported the Carnival by having a stall, Katungul Aboriginal Health Service, NSW Police, University of Wollongong and TAFE NSW. Katungul graciously donated several prizes on the day.

Wednesday evening was spent hosting community members, Elders, family members and MHS staff for a warm dinner followed by Karaoke and games in the hall.

On Thursday we again returned to Broulee to participate in a day of Netball. Again the weather was perfect and three programs tried their hardest and competition was tight. But again, Albury and Moruya met in the Final, this time Albury were the winners. Thursday night everyone ventured to Moruya Golf Club for our Carnival presentation. Congratulations to Moruya High school Stars students who received awards:

Star of the Carnival - Lateesha L

Touch Footy MVP - Annalise C

Netball MVP - Riharla
