Yesterday we had our opening ceremony for NAIDOC Week 2023 which started at our cultural learning space.
Rawdon L opened our ceremony with his Welcome To Country, while some of our Indigenous students had the opportunity to dance with Jordan Nye and The Muladha Gamara Cultural group.
Year 10 student Imelda P gave a speech on what NAIDOC means to her and how our Elders have forged their way through their own journeys to pave the way for future generations.
Aboriginal Education Officer Lisa Rowley spoke about the history of NAIDOC and how her own elders have made a impact and have helped others in community by being a voice of those less fortunate.
Our ceremony wrapped up with a whole school attending a flag raising ceremony in the quad.
We also like to thank our Aboriginal Educational Co Ordinator Dan Edwards for being MC at our assembly.
