On Thursday 8th May, the boys and girls Under 15 soccer teams travelled to Merimbula for the Bill Turner Cup and Trophy.
The boys came up against some strong competition against Bega High first, losing their match 0-4 to the team who went on to win the final. Xavier M did a great job leading the team through action as well as communicating with his less experienced team mates. Other stand outs included Yuin M and Declan c.
Our girls team was full of excitement and chatter heading into their first game against Bega High School and they delivered with a strong performance, taking the win 2-1!
This win put them into the final against the tough Narooma High School side. Our girls came out firing, scoring the first two goals of the game! But Narooma fought back, leveling the score in the second half, which led to a tense penalty shootout.
Unfortunately, we narrowly missed out in the shootout, but we are so proud of the team’s incredible effort and sportsmanship.
