In the last week of Term 1, the year 9 Outdoor Education class went on their first overnight camp in the Bournda National Park where the Bournda Environmental Education Staff met us at the campground. Over the two days the Bournda staff helped facilitate several activities including: kayaking, raft building, orienteering, bike riding and a medium ropes course.
The students learnt valuable skills of navigation, teamwork and perseverance. The local fauna were very friendly. A few of the students were lucky enough to have a close encounter with the resident possums. The camp was a good introduction for term two, where our focus will be on navigation.
