On Friday the 26th of May, Moruya High School had a team of five mathematicians attend the Australian National University Maths Day in Canberrra.
The MHS team participated in four competitions, including a Swiss contest and a relay contest. Each student demonstrated excellent team-building skills and mathematical thinking. They were also fortunate to have exposure to the impressive ANU mathematics facilities while there.
Mrs Skrypay has done an excellent job preparing these students for this experience.
McKenzie - I think our team worked really well together. It was such a good experience. We were able to look at complex equations and evaluate how to approach them.
Hamish - It was great fun, and the people that ran the competition were so amazing.
