Two upcoming events from Eurobodalla Council’s Ydrive program, designed to support young people in gaining confidence and knowledge around driving and car ownership. Learner drivers' Log Book Run - Moruya | Eurobodalla Council
Date: Sunday 21 September 2025 Start Location: Moruya Riverside Park
Time: 10:00am kick-off
Who it's for: Learner drivers and their mentor drivers (family, carers, or community volunteers).
What to Expect:
- Log 6 hours of driving in the Learner Log Books
- Drive scenic mapped routes across Eurobodalla Shire in solidarity with other learners (north and south options)
- Road safety demonstrations, including breathalyser training from NSW Police
- Practical pre-drive vehicle safety checks
- ‘Pilgrim Passport’ stamp checkpoints across the Shire, with the chance to win a full tank of fuel
- Free food voucher for northbound route participants
- Supportive mentors and volunteers throughout the day
This initiative brings together youth, local services, and community spirit in a unique and engaging format designed to encourage safer, smarter driving.
Date: Wednesday 1 October 2025 (school holidays)
Time: 12:30pm – 2:30pm Location: Bay Pavilions, Vesper Street, Batemans Bay
Who it’s for: People considering purchasing their first vehicle and anyone supporting them—family, mentors, youth workers, and educators.
What to Expect:
- Expert presentations from police, bankers, and dealership professionals
- Real talk on budgeting: insurance, registration, fuel, maintenance
- Tips for saving and building credit responsibly
- Overview of key road rules and legal obligations for new drivers
- Insight into vehicle inspections and what police look for
- How to evaluate deals at a dealership and spot red flags
- Introduction to basic vehicle checks when buying second hand
- Participants receive a complimentary lunch
