The Netball NSW Schools Cup was held recently in Broulee. We proudly entered 5 teams into this competition, our largest entry to date. Over 40 students in years 7-10 attended the event, with teams comprised of a mix of experienced netballers and those new to netball.
Our year 7 girls team faced some tough competition in their pool but managed to come away in 4th position at the end of the day. Congratulations to the team for representing Moruya in your first year of high school.
Our year 8 girls narrowly missed progressing to the finals in their pool, finishing in 3rd position with some convincing wins and a great environment within the team.
The stage 5 girls division saw our year 9 & 10 teams play 7 games on the day! Our year 9 team grew in confidence with each game and ended the day with a respectable 5th place, though the highlight may very well have been getting the win over our year 10 team!
The year 10 girls also narrowly missed out in advancing to the next level, stringing together several wins across the day to finish 3rd.
We congratulate our stage 5 boys team on several exciting and convincing wins. This team finished in second place and will compete in the regional finals in Nowra in August.
A huge shoutout to Sari, our lone senior student who umpired all day alongside Ms Patmore and Ms Croser. Without our amazing umpires, we would not have been able to provide this opportunity to so many students.
