Another food trend that year 10 Food Technology have uncovered for 2023 is nostalgic foods. To reflect this, classes have prepared apricot chicken, a childhood memory for many and the classic Chiko roll! First seen in the 1950’s, this dish could quite easily fit into our current year 9 topic, Food in Australia based on the strong inspiration drawn from Chinese migration during this period, with the Chiko roll being an Aussie take on a classic spring roll.
This recipe has proved popular with students and staff alike. Both classes demonstrated efficient and collaborative preparation of the rolls which were then deep fried to perfection by Mrs Harper.
